Bali Spot: Settimo Cielo Seminyak's All You Can Graze Italian Feast
On my recent trip to Bali, I had the chance to visit one of the newest Italian restaurant in the swanky Seminyak area. Settimo Cielo, or Seventh Heaven, places itself to be a laid back yet classy Italian restaurant that's actually quite common in the area.
The place is definitely not that big, probably only sits around 40 people max. The interior is contemporary yet warm, with the use of deep earthy colors that cool the eye from the beating Seminyak sun.

The earth elements extends to the small water pond that greets at the front, tropical flowers, a treed terrace and subdued lighting. When the food is served, either hand-made pasta in terra cotta bowls, grilled seafood portioned from copper and brass, or savory side dishes served from ceramics, you will slowly see this is where the ‘rustic’ element lies.
That day, I was invited to try heir new Seventh Heaven Grazing Menu where you can enjoy an open selection of Settimo’s best menu items in sampler size. This is a perfect way for you that want to be overfed with good Italian food that's not just pasta.
The menu is divided into six categories; the Raw & Cured, the Crisp & Grilled, Soup, Pasta, Salad, and Pizza. The Raw & Cured is basically the antipasti with classics like Yellowfin Crudo, Kingfish Tartare for seafood, or the beef tartare, carpaccio, and bresaola if you’re in favor of meat.
Under the Crisp & Grilled menu category, I recommend the deep fried zucchini flowers served with red salsa, the grilled calamari, and the Arancini or deep fried risotto balls served with olive tapenade. If you’re in the mood for something hearty, we really love the simple yet rich porcini mushrooms soup, topped with mascarpone cheese and just a dash of truffle oil.
And what’s an Italian luncheon without homemade pasta and pizza? We tried the rabbit & porcini ragu parpadelle, tossed in mint-marinated snow pea leaves. For pizza, we love the four cheese pizza with piattone, tri signori, gorgonzola, and fresh mozarella finished with shaved radiccio, chopped walnuts, and fresh rosemary.
I also like their salad options, the Fennel Orange & Rucola, served with parmesan and tossed with lemon & olive oil is a refreshing option to accompany all the rich dishes. The warm grilled vegetables served with soft & goat cheese will also do great as a side.
You can try all the above menu items, 25 in all, only for Rp. 225k++ per person, and have yourself a one of a kind Italian feast!
